Right Reason Technologies Hosts First Annual E-Learning Contest06/04/2009

On Tuesday June 2nd, Right Reason Technologies held the awards banquet for its first annual E-Learning Contest. The contest required high school students from our area to create an E-Learning lesson using Right Reason Technologies' RightCourse™ software. Entries were judged by how informative the lesson was as well as how engaging the presentation was. Students completed the projects as part of their coursework in various classes. David Mehrtens of Right Reason Technologies, the organizer of the project, stated that, "in many cases, the students know more about certain topics and technologies than their teachers do. This project lets the students turn the tables and showcase their knowledge and technical skills."

Guest speakers Steve Spengler, Director of Instructional Technology Secondary Education at Pocono Mountain School District, and Gina Vives, Director of Technology and Curriculum at Delaware Valley School District discussed the importance of E-Learning in the schools. They applauded the students for their hard work and innovative use of technology.
The winners received scholarships to be used to help further their education. Winners were:
1st Prize - Eric Caulfield - $500 (Monroe County Technical Institute)
2nd Prize - Mike Calabrese & John Bessonett - $250 (Delaware Valley High School)
3rd Prize - Josh Tucker & Tom France - $100 (Delaware Valley High School)

Mehrtens later said that, "the event was a huge success, we had great participation and dozens of fantastic entries. We are looking forward to continuing and expanding the contest next year."
